Agonos vs Trainerize

Trainerize is the best-known tool in the market. It is also the one whose real bill looks least like its sticker price.

Updated 2 September 2026

The short answer

Trainerize (ABC Trainerize) is the incumbent of online coaching: an enormous installed base, a deep integration ecosystem, and a client app that hundreds of thousands of people already have on their phone. It is not a small player and should not be compared as one.

Take Trainerize if you coach in English, if your clients already have it, or if you want a branded app for almost nothing — $169 once, where we charge €99 a month. Take Agonos if you want the sticker price to be the price you pay: there, nutrition, Stripe payments and video calls are billed on top, and the Pro plan climbs with your client count.

Choose Trainerize if

  • A branded app for a $169 one-off setup fee from the Pro plan up. On that specific point they are far cheaper than us.
  • A permanently free plan for 1 client, and a 30-day trial with unlimited clients and no card.
  • The widest ecosystem in the market: integrations, wearables, gym partners, and an app many clients already know.

Choose Agonos if

  • Everything is in the plan. Nutrition, payments, check-ins, accounting: no $10, $20 or $45 line to add.
  • €29/month for unlimited clients, where their Pro plan runs $23 for 5 clients to $135 for 50.
  • French end to end — coach dashboard, client app, support and legal documents — if that is your market.

What changes when you move

1

One line on your statement

The Agonos bill is the price of the plan. There is no nutrition module, payments module or video module to add.

2

Your clients read the session in their own language

The app ships in English and French and follows the language of your client's phone.

3

Your history comes across

Training history imports from a Trainerize export. You are not starting from a blank page.

Questions before you switch

What does Trainerize actually cost?+

Pro runs $23/month for 5 clients up to $135/month for 50, and several features most working coaches consider essential are billed separately: advanced nutrition at $20–45/month, Stripe payments at $10/month, video calling at $10/month. That is what opens the gap against a single €29 plan. Read off their pricing page on 2 September 2026.

Does Trainerize work in French?+

The client app is translated into several languages, but the coach experience, documentation and support are built English-first. On Agonos, French is a first-class language rather than a bolted-on translation.

They are cheaper than you on white-label, aren't they?+

Considerably, and it should be said: $169 once there against €99 a month here. If a branded app is your only criterion and the rest of their grid suits you, take Trainerize.

Will my clients have to download another app?+

Yes, they install Agonos — free for them, with no paywall. It is the only thing you have to ask of them, and it is also when they meet a session that works with no signal.
